The Winery at Hunters Valley has a rich history as one of the oldest wineries in Pennsylvania. As the winery has changed over the years, one thing has remained, how much our customers love the wine and the view! Over the years, the property has expanded, moving from a small garage converted into a retail store at the bottom of the hill, to the hilltop tasting room and event space we have today. The vineyard has also changed, growing to 10 acres featuring 14 varieties of grapes including Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Vidal Blanc, and Valvin Muscat.

1981 – Kvaternik Family
Nestled on a scenic hilltop overlooking the Susquehanna River in Liverpool, PA, Hunters Valley Winery was originally founded by Bill and Darlene Kvaternik. Over the years, it developed into a beloved family-run vineyard producing a wide variety of wines from estate-grown grapes including Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Riesling.

2015 – Williams Family
Following Bill’s passing in 2014, the winery was purchased by the Williams family—owners of The Winery at Wilcox—and reopened as The Winery at Hunters Valley in 2015. Under their stewardship, the winery grew its offerings while continuing to honor its roots in Central Pennsylvania wine country.

2025 – Keister Family
Now, the winery is owned by Amberlee and Bryan Keister. For Bryan, the connection to the winery is personal—having grown up in Harrisburg, his family would often pass the vineyard on their way to visit relatives in Freeburg, Selinsgrove, and Lewisburg. Amberlee, who always loved the scenic drive along the river during their early days of dating, instantly fell in love with the sweeping views from the tasting room. Together, their decision to purchase the winery was driven by a shared passion for agriculture, a dream of small business ownership, and a deep desire to invest in their local community. The Keisters are committed to preserving the quality wines guests have grown to love while introducing new events and experiences that celebrate the land, the community, and the beauty of the Susquehanna Valley.
